The film has taken the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Outstanding Societal Concerns — Long Form Content.
Somerville follows the Grove family, four generations rooted on the same Virginia land since 1914, and the fight to keep the farm in their hands. Produced by The American Table and Inertia Films, the film set out to document a family and ended up helping save their farm and their homes.
